My research practice emphasizes engagement with community-based audiences.

Within the scope of academics, my research focuses on retrieving and organising the oral poetry of cultural subgroups in Nigeria in virtual archives.

In non-academic spaces, I leverage five years of experience as a field reporter and entry-level producer in producing social documentary film projects, community-based screenings, and participant workshops that interpret academic research findings and social themes.

My Conference Presentation Experience

Between November 2024 and January 2025, I was a participant in the Radboud University Urban Cultures in the AfroDiaspora Working Group.

During the collaborative learning program, I:

1. Was grouped with students from Universidad de Antioquia in Medellín (Colombia), Lehman College in New York (USA) and the University of Nigeria (Nsukka).
2. Took lessons on (1) Afropeanism in the Dutch Context (2) cultural diffusion, particularly through music and (3) Contemporary Migration.
3. Contributed five sections (over 1,000 words) to a group presentation on champeta’s origins and connection with music from the African continent.
4. Presented the photo essay (on behalf of my working group) to the audience at the hybrid AfroDiasporic Circulations Conference which held at Radboud University Nijmegen on January 15th and 16th 2025.
